the Nethrone and vale my kitty friend Cooper

The Nethrone is a super cool looking and functioning integrated 'entertainment station' with a reclining seat to let people use a computer with adjustable seat, keyboard and monitor.

It looks like a dentist chair but I reckon it could have come out of The Matrix.

Check it out - Nethrone link

My dear kitty friend, Cooper from Madison, Wisconsin USA passed away today (our time) . Cooper was a wonderful and smart cat whom I am honoured and privileged to know. He will be missed by all of us and his human. Rest well Cooper, and enjoy your wings.

#Happy Birthday to Colm Begley who turned 20 today. Colm wears No. 46 guernsey for my team, the Brisbane Lions. My human watched him play his debut game in round 20 and said Colm played really well.

*For more kitty thoughts, check out Camilla.

My human was a little late back from work today (only 15 minutes past my dinner time) so I was already waiting by the door when he opened it. Not only was he late back, but I know that this morning on his way to work he played stick with that Border Collie dog Tessie who lives a few blocks away. Hmmmpppphhhhh!

a pseudoscience or a pseudoreligion

The Scientologists believe that psychiatry is pseudoscience (remember Tom Cruise criticised Brooke Shields for taking medication).

I wonder if psychiatrists believe that Scientology is a pseudoreligion and a pseudochurch.

*As always, please check out Cooper and Camilla who always have interesting things to say.

Today's Wednesday was back to normal. However, I had to wait for my dinner as my human had to cook up my corn fed chicken (drum sticks). Later, Emily came over and my huaman cooked up garfish for dinner, so there was some for me as well. Woohoo! I also managed to spend a bit of time laying on Emily's lap tonight to make up for her not coming last week.

Azrael and Smurfs

Azrael is Gargamel's cat.

Gargamel is an 'evil wizard' who wants to destroy the Smurfs and he ill-treats Azrael.

All Azrael wants to do is to eat Smurfs.

Why does that make him a villain?

If you are a cat, wouldn't you also find cute little blue Smurfs rather appealing as a snack?

The last couple of days have been a bit sad around here. The daffodils are starting to bloom and daffodils always reminds my human of Fatty as he so loved to hide amongst them.

I had another boring day at home today. When my human returned from work, and after my dinner, he sat on the couch with me and fell asleep. It was so nice.

Fatty, two years on

This is Keiser's human. She has kindly allowed me to write another entry to her blog.

I wish to dedicate this entry to her brother Fatty.

This is a copy of my 'Tail of Devotion to to Fatty' which you can also read on Fatty's Catster page.
You have been gone two years but every day I still think of you and see your photos.

I really miss
- hearing your heavy paw-steps on the wooden floor
- you going through the cat flap using your paws first to ensure it opens
- you intentionally jingling the bell on your collar to announce your presence
- you scratching at any closed doors inside the house to ensure you were not shut out
- you meowing loudly to insist on going outside (supervised) and then inspecting your territory
- you pawing at my nose in the morning to wake me
- you headbutting me to gain my attention
- you grabbing prawns (shrimps) out of my hand, making it known that they were your favourite
- carrying you around in my arms as we walked around
- you listening to me when I talk to you
- you coming to me when I call you, with that fast walk/run and staying by my side
- you already being in bed, on my spot when it is time for sleep
- you greeting me at the door when I come home
- you going under the covers all stretched out with your belly and paws touching me
- you growling at me when I bring you back inside carried in my arms
- cooking your favourite dinner of fresh tuna
- the sound of your bell clinking against your ceramic food bowl
- watching you drink water from your water bowl with your front paws submerged in the bowl
- you sitting on the bath mat while I have a shower and talking to me
- brushing your fur with two brushes and watching your enjoyment
- watching you listening with much pleasure to Puccini's La Boheme
- your loyalty and devotion

Thank you for the years we had together.

Your departure may have broken my heart, but you are still there, always and forever.

Fatty's human

These are the last few photos of Fatty taken on my mobile phone.

It still breaks my heart to see how thin he had become.

I still miss you Fatty.

on Kabbalah (... all I want is some red string)

When I was a younger cat, I used to play with a ball of red yarn. It was a lot of fun until my claws became entangled and the string was put away, never to be seen again.

It seems that kitties are not the only creatures who love red string.

Kabbalah followers can't live without Red String and wear it tied to their wrist.

If I wasn't already a follower of Bastet, the ancient Egyptian cat goddess, I'd be a Kabbalist just for the Red String.

There was an interesting article in The Observer today about Kabbalah
Kabbalah followers wear bracelets of red string around their wrists, supposedly to ward off the evil eye. Although influenced in the past by Freemasonry and the magical 'dark arts', Kabbalah has emerged anew into the glare of Hollywood. But no one knows whether Kabbalah is a benign institution or - as anti-cult activists and orthodox Rabbis claim - a dangerous cult run by charlatans. And no one knows who is really in control of this phenomenal 'spiritual' enterprise, with its 51 Kabbalah Centres worldwide from Rio to Bogota, and 3.5m converts.

You can read more of the article - here ('Hollywood and divine' by Jocasta Shakespeare)

Also - The Kabbalah Centre

I begged for some official Red String, but my human gawked at the US $26 (A $34) price tag. How much is a ball of red yarn worth anyway?

I had another good day today. My human stayed with me all day. Woohoo!

Around midday we watched Short Circuit which may be old now (20 years old) but is a classic. Afterwards, my human fell asleep with me on the couch.

Tonight, while he was ironing two weeks worth of work shirts, we watched Cursed which was really scarey but funny (it's werewolf movie).

I had a good day today. This morning I went outside and nibbled on some grass while my human hung out the washing. In between me laying on his lap, he also did chores like cleaning the floor. He changed the bedding with a brand new quilt (doona) cover.

I approve!

Pluto and Krebs

Pluto

Some people are upset that Pluto has been relegated to dwarf planet status. I have a solution to this 'problem'.

Nuke it. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen until July 2015 when NASA's New Horizons reaches Pluto.

Krebs

Far more exciting (truly) is the 206th anniversary of the birth of Hans Krebs, after whom the Krebs Cycle was named (as he was the one who first identified it and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine).

My human reckons it is much more interesting than glycolysis. There is something about reducing pyruvate to carbon dioxide and a bunch of other molecules.

This is what it looks like - Animation

I had visitors today. Woohoo! Even in the morning. Martin, who is the back neighbour (and who finally got a job in my human's agency) came over to walk to work with my human. He was only here for a few minutes, but I meowed to him.

This evening, my human returned from work with Malgosia (who calls me Kizia Mizia). She only stayed for a cup of tea while my human tried to find a map of Bangkok for her. He couldn't find one (strange as he must have a few). Malgosia will be staying over in Bangkok for a few days on her way to Poland, Austria, Germany and Italy.

I ate all my breakfast this morning and all my dinner tonight. Now that I am an old cat, my human gets excited every time I eat all my meals.

After Malgosia left, my human ate a few cold leftovers from the fridge and then fell asleep on the couch! Woohoo! I was on his lap. When he woke up we watched a very exciting episode of Chaser on TV. Those guys are so funny.

Paramount and Cruise

Tom Cruise this, Tom Cruise that, blah blah blah. Paramount Pictures sacked him. Yawn....

He's not even a good actor. He certainly doesn't deserve to be paid obscene amounts of money to act badly.

.........ooooooooOOOOOOOOoooooooo..........

I tried to get my human to play chase with me this morning, but all he did was check my bottom. He put me on the couch before he went to work, so I had a bath and then had a nap.

He returned earlier than usual from work but I still greeted him at the door. Lo and behold there was another visitor! Woohoo! Neil came over this evening and I spent a good amount of time on his lap. The humans had roast beef for dinner. I very politely asked for my share, which was denied. Not happy!

Madonna is still an idiot

I cannot resist the opportunity to bag Madonna and other famous 'entertainers' who really ought to stick to 'entertaining' instead of continually revealing their stupidity to the world.

The material girl has this notion that a mystical Kabbalah fluid can clean up radioactive waste.

I spent most of the day napping on my big day bed in my daytime bedroom, then napped some more on my round mat in the living room.

I had a great dinner tonight. I had the same thing for dinner as my human, which was pan fried garfish. Woohoo!

Oh, and Emily didn't come tonight, so I'm just going to have a nap in my soft basket.

Bush read Camus

President George W Bush read Albert Camus' L'Etranger or rather, the English translation The Stranger over the summer.

Now watch the book rise up in the best seller lists as neo-cons buy and attempt to read the book to work out what is going on in the President's head.

Hmmmm.... George W Bush discussing existentialism?

Stranger things have happened.

It has been cold so I have been snuggling up with my human. My appetite has been hearty and today I had two helpings of chicken plus some beef from the soup bones which my human had been roasting to make stock.

Sebastian's gold crowns

No no, Sebastian is not royalty and I'm not referring to head wear.

Sebastian is in fact a one year old Persian cat with long black fur.

His human is a dentist, David Steele, and being a teeth specialist, he was concerned about how Sebastian's teeth were growing, so he arranged for the two bottom canine teeth (dog teeth?) to be crowned with gold at US $900 each in order to strengthen them.

Sebastian was not happy and didn't speak to his human for two days.

I had fun with Emily over the weekend. We watched the movie Goal! and had lots of cuddles.

My human returned today just before my dinner time and gave me my dinner and I even ate it all. Afterwards, I refused to get off his lap, although he did want to unpack.

My human told me that he caught up with his friend Jon from university days and went with his youngest brother Thomas and his wife Sarah to a stand up comedy show, then went out for a few drinks.

My human said he very much enjoyed going to the football match, and went to say hello to Judy, who works for the Lions Football Club membership office before the game and at half-time. Judy told him that I'm famous in the office with my pictures on the wall. Woohoo!

After the game, there was a meet the players activity on the field and my human managed to get more player signatures on my bandana. Woohoo! Not only that he also bought me some more player badges. Unfortunately, my human didn't get a chance to talk to the players this time, or to meet Vossy (the captain) or Blacky (his favourite player). Here are some photos that my human took -

this and that

I am sending my human off to Brisbane this afternoon and I expect he willl turn off the computer. Never fear, I will resume my blog on Monday night when he returns and turns the computer back on.

My human is going to the round 20 football game between my team, the Brisbane Lions (as if you didn't know by now), and the West Coast Eagles. I hope he brings back some goodies for me! And he gets to meet the players again.

In the meantime, check out Scissor Sisters - new video clip I Don't Feel Like Dancing from their soon to be released album Ta-Dah.

And here is a photo of some Daleks.

Emily is going to come and keep me company. As I've mentioned before, she is my most favourite person in the whole wide world. We also have the same taste for yummy salty and crunchy things like potato chips...

I could use Emily's computer but then, I'd much rather just lay on her lap.
