It was reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that elephants recognise themselves in the mirror.


Apparently this makes them smart like humans, chimpanzees and dolphins.


The Los Angeles Times in reporting this story, started their story by suggesting that "Cats may try to pick a fight with their image in a mirror". What a ridiculous notion!
