October 5th in Portugal

It was Republic day in Portugal today, to mark the October 5th Revolution in 1910 when the monarchy was overthrown.

I'm surprised that my human isn't indulging in one of his favourite sweets, pasteis de nata (Portuguese custard tarts). My human reckons the best ever tarts are from Pasteis de Belem (bakery) in Lisbon, eaten warm straight out of the oven.

.........ooooooooOOOOOOOOoooooooo..........

What a boring day today was. No custard tarts either.
