Maurice Sendak was born today (10 June) in 1928.
He is a famous children's book writer and illustrator. His most famous works are Where the Wild Things Are (1963) and In the Night Kitchen (1970).

These have been read to children for generations. My human still remembers them from primary/elementary school. In fact, he still has them on his bookshelf!
