Doha suspended

Multilateral trade talks take years. The most recent round (the Doha Round) started some years ago and was to focus on agriculture, services and developing countries. The talks have failed and are now suspended.

American consumers may think that home grown food items are cheap, but they've actually paid more for it through taxpayer funded subsidies to farmers. Also, why would rich countries want to help poor ones when they are a good source of cheap labour?
