terrific is scarey

Horrific comes from the Latin horrificus : horrre, to tremble + -ficus, -fic.

Horror, Horrify and Horrible are similarly related words.

Fantastic comes from the Middle English fantastik, imagined; from Old French fantastique; from Late Latin phantasticus, imaginary; and from Greek phantastikos, able to create mental images, from phantazesthai, to appear.

Fantasy is a similarly related word.

Terrific comes from the Latin terrificus : terrre, to frighten + -ficus, -fic.

Terror and Terrify are similarly related words.

When on Earth did the word terrific come to mean great or excellent?

*As always, please check out Cooper and Camilla who always have interesting things to say.

........ooooooooOOOOOOOOoooooooo........

I had a great day today. Sooty and Spike's human Tim came over in the afternoon with lots of music for my human to check out. They also spent the afternoon watching episodes of Catweazle and Family Guy before having steak and mash potato for dinner. Again, I miss out on the beef, but I did enjoy the laps.
